| AvonStorm Motion
Pictures is launched.
In July 2007, AvonStorm entertainment launched one of their most
exciting ventures and sister to AvonStorm games, AvonStorm Motion
Pictures. This company strives to change the face and reputation
of South African cinema and expose it to the world with universal
appeal while still raising the bar in entertainment expertise.
“Avonstorm Motion Pictures was created
under the banner of Avonstorm Entertainment and shares a common
goal as a Corporation that strives to empower the youth of South
Africa. Avonstorm Motion Pictures aims to become an internationally
acclaimed Film production studio that may lift up South Africa and
revolutionize the Film based culture of the world.” –
Jaques Smit, Producer, Co-founder.
While the world is constantly setting new standards in the filmmaking
franchise, South Africa finds it’s industry still in an infantile
and fledgling state, even though it’s industry is one of the
oldest in the world. AvonStorm Motion Pictures sets out to not only
increase the interest in S.A. Film, but also entertain in the highest
order, while creating worlds that are both fresh and exciting, and
maintain the spirit and narrative of classic and bold storytelling.
“We don’t want to settle for the
same old stuff we’ve all seen in the past, we encourage new,
adventurous and daringly ambitious work. Each of our works will
have a deep and profound statement about it, no matter what genre
and each will be with a grand and brave vision, unlike anything
produced in South Africa before.” – Brendan C. Campbell,
Writer, Director, Co- Founder.
The international standard is there to be reached and Avonstorm
Motion Pictures is making it their primary goal to do the reaching.
“That’s where the idea and passion
came from. Of course to give other people with the same ideas and
visions the same opportunities would be great. We want to be a competitor
with Hollywood.” – Werner Freyer, Executive Producer,
Co-founder.
As the future trendsetter in the movie industry we shall soon TAKE
OVER THE WORLD! Or, well… That would be a perk.
